Find Your Perfect Austrian Farm Stay

Planning an Austrian farm holiday sounds dreamy, until you actually start searching. (Read about our unforgettable farm stay in Austria here, if you haven’t already!)

Suddenly you’re looking at dozens of farm websites (mostly in German), trying to work out which ones have animals, which ones are genuinely good for kids, which ones are near swimming or mountain lifts, and which ones might actually have space in the school holidays.

I can help with that.

Struggling to find the right Austrian farm stay?

You’re not alone. I’ve seen lots of families struggle with…

❌ Finding somewhere with availability

The best family farm stays can book up early, especially in school holidays. Some only show limited availability online, and others rely on direct enquiries.

❌ Knowing which region to choose

Austria has so many brilliant areas for families, but they don’t all offer the same kind of holiday. Some are better for lakes, some for lifts, some for cycling, some for car-free travel, and some for a really rural farm experience.

❌ Working out what the farm actually offers

“Farm stay” can mean very different things. Some places have pony rides, animal feeding, organised activities and bikes to borrow. Others are lovely rural apartments on an arable farm, but much quieter.

❌ Finding enough to do nearby

A farm might look beautiful, but is there outdoor swimming nearby? Can you reach mountain lifts? Are there easy hikes, traffic-free cycle paths, thermal pools, playgrounds or wet-weather options?

❌ Knowing whether it will work for your family

A farm that’s perfect for toddlers might not be right for older kids. A farm that works brilliantly with a car might be frustrating by public transport. A gorgeous remote apartment might not be ideal if you want cafés, bike hire and swimming within walking distance.

I’m here to help

A woman and two kids smile while walking on a wooded trail in the mountains, dressed in tie-dye shirts and hiking gear. A serene scene that reflects the joy of travelling adventurously as a solo parent with kids in nature.

Hi, I’m Bea 👋

I lived in Austria as a child and spent my own childhood summers on a working farm there.

More recently, I returned to an Austrian farm stay with my own children, and it reminded me just how brilliant this kind of holiday can be.

But I also know how fiddly it can be to find the right one.

That’s why I now offer a small Austrian farm stay search service for families who like the idea, but don’t have the time or headspace to trawl through endless websites.

Why work with me?

First-hand Austria experience

Austria has been part of my life since childhood. I know the appeal of a proper Austrian farm holiday, and I also know the difference between “nice rural accommodation” and a farm stay that genuinely works for families.

Active family travel knowledge

I don’t just look for a pretty apartment. I think about the whole holiday: animals, swimming, lifts, hikes, cycling, public transport, guest cards, wet-weather options and whether there’s enough nearby to keep everyone happy.

A realistic family filter

I travel with my own children and write for families who want adventurous but doable trips. I’ll look for places that suit your children’s ages, your budget, your travel style and your appetite for activity.

Less overwhelm

Instead of you losing hours to websites, maps, bus timetables and availability checks, I’ll create a focused shortlist so you can move forward with more confidence.

Austrian Farm Stay Shortlist: £65

Want a personalised shortlist without spending hours searching?

I’ll look for suitable Austrian farm stays based on your family, dates, budget, preferred region and travel style.

This is not a full travel planning service, and I don’t book accommodation for you. I do the first round of research, narrow down the options and send you a practical shortlist so you can contact or book directly with the farm stay.

What’s included

✅ A quick pre-check before payment, to make sure your request looks realistic

✅ Research across Austrian farm stay websites, direct farm websites and family-friendly accommodation options

✅ 3–5 suitable farm stay suggestions

✅ Notes on why each option could work for your family

✅ Direct booking or enquiry links

✅ Availability checked as far as possible at the time of research

✅ Suggestions based on your priorities, such as animals, swimming, lifts, cycling, public transport or organised activities

What’s not included

❌ Booking accommodation on your behalf

❌ Taking payment for accommodation

❌ Acting as a travel agent

❌ Booking trains, flights, car hire, activities or restaurants

❌ Creating a full day-by-day itinerary

❌ Managing ongoing communication after I’ve sent the shortlist

What I’ll look for

Depending on your brief, I can look for farm stays with:

✅ animals, pony rides or hands-on farm activities

✅ outdoor swimming nearby, such as a lake, pool or thermal baths

✅ access to mountain lifts, alpine playgrounds or easy family hikes

✅ traffic-free cycle paths or bike hire

✅ organised farm or family activities

✅ self-catering apartments or family rooms

✅ public transport access, if you won’t have a car

✅ guest cards that include lifts, pools, buses or local attractions

✅ enough nearby options for a full week, including wet-weather ideas

The aim is to find somewhere that fits the holiday you’re picturing, not just somewhere that technically has availability.

Budget guidance

Austrian farm stays vary a lot in price.

As a rough guide, a family apartment can start from around €150 per night for simpler options. More polished or luxury farm stays, especially those with pools, wellness facilities, riding, large apartments or very popular locations, can be €400–€650+ per night in peak season.

I’ll always work with your budget, but it helps to be realistic, especially for school holiday dates.

Minimum stays

Most Austrian farm stays have a minimum stay, especially during school holidays.

This can vary from around 3–4 nights to a full 7-night minimum in peak season. A little flexibility with dates or length of stay can make it much easier to find somewhere suitable.

Optional Enquiry Support

Many Austrian farm stays are booked by direct enquiry rather than instant online booking.

If you’d like extra help contacting the farms on your shortlist, you can add the option below.

I contact up to 3 farms for you: £45

I’ll contact up to three farm stays from your shortlist to ask about availability, price, apartment setup and any key requirements. I’ll then summarise the replies for you.

What’s included

✅ I contact up to 3 farms from your shortlist

✅ I ask about availability, price and suitable accommodation options

✅ I include key questions based on your brief

✅ I summarise the replies for you

✅ I send you the direct booking or enquiry details

What’s not included

❌ Booking the farm stay for you

❌ Paying deposits or accommodation costs

❌ Negotiating prices

❌ Managing ongoing back-and-forth

❌ Taking responsibility for anything after the results are sent

How it works

1. Fill out the enquiry form

Tell me your dates, children’s ages, budget, travel plans and what kind of farm stay you’re hoping for.

2. I check whether your request looks realistic

Before taking payment, I’ll review your enquiry. If I think I can help, I’ll send you a payment link.

If the brief looks too difficult, I’ll let you know honestly. Sometimes a small tweak, such as being flexible by a few days, choosing a different region or adjusting the budget, can make the search much more realistic.

3. I create your shortlist

Once payment is received, I’ll research suitable options and create your personalised shortlist of 3–5 Austrian farm stays.

4. You contact or book directly

I’ll send you the farm stay details, notes and direct links. You then contact or book directly with the farm stay or accommodation provider.

What happens if nothing suitable is available?

I’ll only invite you to pay for the service if I think your request looks realistic.

If I accept the search but can’t find at least three suitable options that broadly match your brief and appear to have availability at the time of research, I’ll refund your search fee in full.

Please note that availability can change quickly. I can’t hold accommodation or guarantee that an option will still be available once you contact the farm.

Ready to find your Austrian farm stay?

Fill out the enquiry form with your dates, children’s ages, budget and wish list.

I’ll take a quick look and let you know whether I think I can help before taking payment.

Not sure yet? You can email me first at bea@wildbeeoutdoors.co.uk if you’d like to check whether the service might be right for your family.

FAQ

Do you book the farm stay for me?

No. I don’t book accommodation or take payments on your behalf. I create a researched shortlist and send you direct booking or enquiry links, so you can book directly with the farm stay.

Can you guarantee availability?

No. Availability can change quickly, especially in school holidays. I’ll check availability as carefully as possible at the time of research, but you’ll need to confirm directly with the farm before booking.

What happens if you can’t find anything?

If I accept your search but can’t find at least three suitable options that broadly match your brief and appear to have availability at the time of research, I’ll refund your search fee in full.

Can you help if we don’t want to hire a car?

Yes, as long as the request looks realistic. Some Austrian farm stays work well by train and bus, but others are much easier with a car. I’ll consider public transport access as part of the search if that matters to your family; it often matters to mine.

Can you help with German emails?

Yes. You can add enquiry support if you’d like help contacting farms. I can contact up to three farms from your shortlist and summarise the replies.

Can you plan the whole holiday?

Not as part of this service. This is an accommodation search service, focused on finding suitable Austrian farm stays. It doesn’t include a full itinerary, transport planning, restaurant bookings or activity reservations.

Is this only for Austria?

Yes, for now. I’m starting with Austrian farm stays because that’s where I have the most relevant experience and knowledge.
